More useful Aged A/R report
When the next generation of MR software is released, you will see some major improvements in how you work. A good example of these major improvements is the re-imagined Aged A/R Report.
Responsive report
In MR8, the Aged A/R report is static. You can customize it with your search parameters, but once you hit the Search button, MR8 produces a report that is read/print/export only. We found out that’s not enough for how you really work.
The major difference in the new Aged A/R report is that it is an interactive grid of clients and their unpaid invoices. Hyperlinks and dropdown menus give you instant access to any information you might need to contact clients, answer their questions, follow up quickly, and get paid.
Hyperlinked firms
Firm names are linked to their profiles in your system so you can pull up all of their contact information plus the rest of their details instantly — including all of their invoices, their 90-day payment history, and any collections notes to review. You can even send collection letters to firms — including the relevant invoices — directly from Aged A/R search results.
Hyperlinked monthly totals
In addition to the hyperlinked firms, monthly outstanding balances are hyperlinked too. Clicking one of them brings up a list of the client’s unpaid invoices for that month — along with contact information so you can easily refer to specific invoices while on the phone with the client.
Extra useful too is that this list of the client’s monthly outstanding invoices are all hyperlinked to their details. So you have ALL the facts when talking to the client about getting paid. You can even click a button to send them a copy of any overdue invoice — either the original or current invoice (which includes all current fees and late charges).
Other new Aged A/R features
In addition to how connected this new Aged A/R report is to all of your relevant data, it presents its own data in powerful ways:
- The default view lists clients with unpaid balances in descending order by the ones who have the largest amount outstanding in the oldest time period — the clients you want to go after first.
- It has expanded the number of monthly periods you can list on the report up to 12, so you can view a year’s worth+ of A/Rs in one report. You can choose to view unpaid balances for 6 months or any other time period up to 12 months — plus it includes a column for outstanding balances beyond the monthly periods listed.
- If you want to see reports for prior time periods, you can set a different date to age outstanding invoices from.
- You can view the list in ascending or descending order by any time period, grand total owed, firm name or number, assigned collector, or COD status.
- You can use search filters to find invoices for a single firm or all of the firms connected to a single Parent Firm (AKA headquarters). If you view by Parent Firm, you can choose to have all of the firms listed separately or combine all outstanding invoice amounts of the subsidiaries under a parent firm together into one row.
- Finally if you do want a static report for your records or other purposes, you can export the Aged A/R report from MR9 to an Excel spreadsheet with or without individual invoice details. Once exported, you can also print the report.
