Our creative director, Ronnie Sampson, has passed away
Ronnie Sampson, 1959–2025
It is with great sadness that we share with you that Ronnie Sampson, OMTI’s Creative Director, passed away June 16 from a heart attack.
Ronnie began working with OMTI in 1994 creating animations and illustrations for their educational media. In 2001 he formally joined the company as their creative director. He designed all of OMTI’s logos, graphics, publications, speaker support materials, and websites. He created all of the animations about our company and products. He produced our training videos and other animations like our holiday greetings. With his wife, Nancy Martin, OMTI’s Communications Director, he created our ads in the JCR that ran from 2001 to 2022.
Some of you may remember him as the keynote speaker at our annual user conferences. He always began with his “I am not a public speaker” disclaimer, and then would proceed to entertain everyone with his humorous stories and observations that might have seemed random but ultimately tied into the conference theme. His light hearted introductions set the tone for the following events.
In addition to his work with OMTI, Ronnie was a printmaker and painter, photographer, tai chi student, tap dancer, home chef, and a teacher/mentor to many. A celebration of his life will be held later this year.
